Gyan Sadhna Kasoti Material Grade 1 to 8 students who have completed their studies up to Grade 8 in government or aided primary schools, and have the right to free and compulsory education under the Right to Education Act, 2009 (RTE AC, 2009) and the Rules on the Right to Free and Compulsory Education of Children, 2012, are eligible for admission in independent schools with 25% reservation of seats for disadvantaged groups and children with disabilities.
Under the provision of free education, students who have completed their studies up to Grade 8 in independent schools and have demonstrated excellence in academic performance through the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Act, 2009, Section 12(1)(c), are eligible for admission based on a merit-based selection process to pursue education from Grade 9 to 12 in any recognized board-affiliated independent secondary schools.

To facilitate this, the new “Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Yojana” has been implemented, providing scholarships for students to pursue studies in independent schools according to their selection from Grade 9 to 12. Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Yojana Details Under this scheme, every year, 25,000 meritorious students are selected and provided with an annual scholarship of Rs. 20,000 during their studies from Grade 9 to 10, and an annual scholarship of Rs. 25,000 during their studies from Grade 11 to 12.
The “Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Yojana” includes the “Gyan Sadhana Prakharata Kasoti” state-level examination conducted by the State Examination Board. The details of this examination are provided below.

Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Yojana Curriculum:
The curriculum for the Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Yojana consists of the following components:
MAT (Mental Ability Test): The MAT exam will consist of 40 questions based on verbal and non-verbal reasoning. The questions will cover topics such as analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, and hidden figures.
SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test): The SAT exam will consist of 80 questions covering various subjects. For Class 8 students, the distribution of marks will be as follows: Mathematics – 20 marks, Science – 20 marks, Social Science – 15 marks, English – 10 marks, Gujarati – 10 marks, and Hindi – 5 marks.
