SSC Stenographer 2023 Eligibility Criteria 

It’s imperative for candidates to familiarize themselves with the eligibility criteria for SSC Stenographer 2023 across different posts. The following outlines the eligibility criteria:

Education Qualification (as of 23/08/2023) 

Candidates are required to have completed at least the 12th grade from a recognized Board or University. They should possess the capacity to present the necessary documents for verification after successfully qualifying the SSC Stenographer Exam.

Age Limit (as of 01/08/2023) 

For SSC Stenographer Grade C Exam 2023: Candidates should be aged between 18 and 30 years. To meet the eligibility criteria, candidates’ birth dates must fall between 02.08.1993 and 01.08.2005.

For SSC Stenographer Grade D Exam 2023: Candidates must be aged between 18 and 27 years.

The SSC Stenographer 2023 examination consists of two distinct levels. The initial level encompasses the Grade C and D exam, which involves multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is administered online. Important Points:

a) The question paper will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions. Questions will be provided in both Hindi and English, with the exception of Part III.

Candidates need to be cautious of negative marking, as there will be a deduction of ⅓rd marks for each incorrect answer. It is advised for candidates to keep this in mind while responding to questions.

If the Computer Based Examinations are conducted in multiple shifts, the marks obtained by candidates will be normalized. These normalized scores will then be used to determine the final merit.

b) Skill Test in Stenography

Candidates who achieve the prescribed qualifying marks in the Examination, as set by the Commission, will be summoned for the Skill Test. The Commission may also establish qualifying marks for each segment of the Examination. The Skill Test will be of a qualifying nature, and the Commission will define the requisite standards for various candidate categories.

Applicants must partake in the Stenography Skill Test. During this test, candidates will be provided with a 10-minute dictation in English/Hindi at a speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ post and 80 w.p.m. for the Stenographer Grade ‘D’ post. Subsequently, candidates will transcribe the dictated matter onto a computer. The transcription time is as follows:
